Making a Difference Starts with our Volunteers
As a volunteer with Flywheel, you are the integral part in ensuring that value can be created and delivered to our non-profit clients. This means that you not only have the opportunity to leverage your prior experience (while applying it to a specific project situation) but also have the opportunity to work in a completely new area outside of your day job.

Key elements of our volunteer program include:
Project Matching
Volunteers are able to specify their project interests and will be matched to a specific project based on those interests as well as general availability.  Volunteers will be contacted as projects become available. This will ensure that volunteer consultants can participate in projects that are suitable to their interests as well as availability.
Professional Development
Each Flywheel consultant will be required to attend an orientation to the non-profit sector to ensure they understand the basics of non-profit operations and key consulting topics. Â In addition, you will have access to a project advisor who will provide ongoing coaching and professional development throughout your time as a volunteer.
Flexibility
We know you are busy.  Therefore, this is to be considered a flexible opportunity to volunteer on the “side of your desk,'' meaning work can be done either during and/or after regular business hours.  Working arrangements and expectations are to be agreed upon at the start of the project with your client.

Please note that no consulting experience is necessary - we want individuals who are leaders in their community, have exceptional problem solving skills and are eager to learn.
Volunteer Consultant
The Volunteer Consultant participates in all aspects of the consulting engagement, from problem solving to delivering client recommendations, working directly with the non-profit client for the duration of the project.
Project Advisor
The Project Advisor provides guidance and mentorship to consulting teams throughout the engagement by participating in orientation and review sessions, providing feedback on project deliverables ranging from the statement of work to final client deliverables, and giving general guidance on resources and client management.
